Muldrow heads to pro hoops showcase

March 16, 2011

USC forward Sam Muldrow is going to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament next month, where 64 college seniors play games before NBA scouts.

The 6-foot-9 Florence native averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.4 blocks a game for the Gamecocks this season.

Muldrow recorded the school’s second-ever triple-double against Vanderbilt and set USC’s career blocked shot mark.

NBA scouts routinely came to games this year to check out Muldrow, who has a good shooting touch to go along with his defensive skills.
