SEC baseball coaches have named their peer Ray Tanner as SEC Coach of the Year.

That and other baseball honors were announced today by the SEC in the leadup to the kickoff of the 2011 SEC Baseball Tournament.

Tanner earned the laurel through his guidance of the top-seeded and No. 1 ranked team to its third SEC Championship in baseball and first since the 2002 regular season. He also brought the team to its fifth SEC East title.

Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players.
