Hyman staying at USC

GoGamecocks staff reports

USC athletics director Eric Hyman released a statement Wednesday night saying he is not pursuing the AD position at North Carolina.

“I am honored to be considered by my alma mater, North Carolina, but my work here has not been finished and I love being a Gamecock,” he said in the statement.

Hyman has been linked to the soon-to-be open job at North Carolina. WRAL-TV reported Tuesday that Hyman and UNC spoke this past weekend and that Hyman was UNC's "primary candidate."

Hyman is a North Carolina graduate and a former All-ACC football player for the Tar Heels. He joined USC in 2005 after serving as athletics director at TCU.

North Carolina is looking for a replace for current athletics director Dick Baddour.
