Junior offensive lineman D.J. Park (6-6 316) of Dillon committed to South Carolina on Saturday night.

Park was on an unofficial visit with the Gamecocks and becomes their first commitment for the 2013 class.

"It feels good," Park said of his commitment. "I just think its the right place for me. My family can come and see me play."

Park attended several USC games last season and got a good look at how the offense line plays and how line coach Shawn Elliott works.

"I like how hardly anybody misses their assignments," he said. "And I like coach Elliott. He reminds me of my coach in high school."

Park also had offers from Clemson, Auburn, N.C. State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Florida, East Carolina, Tennessee, LSU and Virginia Tech.

He was joined on the visit by his teammate, fellow 2013 prospect Joe Blue.
