Turner keeping options open

Published: March 23, 2012

LB Gerald Turner of Goose Creek has visited USC, Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina but has not taken any recent visits. He plans to be at USC for Saturday’s practice, and will go to Georgia for a visit with some teammates.

Turner has offers from USC, Clemson and North Carolina. He does not have a favorite but said he won’t go further than four hours from home.

Turner talked recently with USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. “USC plans to play me at four different positions,” he said. “Middle linebacker, outside linebacker, defensive tackle, defensive end, stand me up and with my hand down. I want to play with my hand down. USC knows how to play me better than Clemson. Clemson is like, play whatever position I want to play.”
