New York guard will hear from new staff

April 5, 2012

New USC basketball coach Frank Martin will have five scholarships in his pocket for the spring signing period if Anthony Gill and Damontre Harris follow thru on their requests for releases and transfer out of the program. The previous staff offered 6-5 Thaddeus Hall of Brooklyn, NY and the new staff plans to follow up on that offer.

Hall also has offers from Dayton, St. Johns, Maryland, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

Hall has had much to overcome in his personal life to reach this point. He and his family lived for two years in a homeless shelter. His grades suffered and he may have to go to a junior college in the fall. But he has his GPA close enough to qualifying status that the major colleges are still recruiting him.

Hall emerged as one of the top players in New York City this season and led his team to the city championship game.
