OL Austin Bland (6-3 280) of Ft. Lauderdale visited USC Thursday on his way to Wake Forest and came away impressed.

"It kind of happened quickly," Bland said. "Grady Brown invited me to visit the campus and I was already heading to Wake Forest for their spring game." It was his first trip to Columbia. "I got to take a tour of the campus and watch a practice," he said. "I saw the weight room and all of the facilities. It was good to finally meet coach (Grady) Brown and my dad and I got to spend time with coach (Shawn) Elliott," adding, "I loved it."

Bland has offers from Cincinnati and Purdue and feels confident USC could offer. He would welcome the opportunity. "They're in the SEC," he said. "That's big-time." Other schools showing interest include Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Arkansas, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Indiana, Central Florida and Alabama.

He is interested in several schools including USC, He named FSU, Florida, Georgia, Wake Forest, Arkansas, Indiana and West Virginia as other schools on his list. Bland plans to attend camps at USC, Florida, and FSU this summer. He did not name a leader.
