Athlete Jasper Sasser (6-2 185) of Jacksonville, Fla., committed to USC on Saturday, becoming the second commitment for the Gamecocks on the day of their spring game.
Sasser did not attend the game and called recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. with his pledge after the game.
"It's more like family there and I've got a connection with them," Sasser said. "I love the coaching staff. They graduated 26 seniors. That's big. I just think it's going to be the best fit for me out of every school in the nation."
Sasser said he's not sure which position he will play. He plays defensive back, receiver and running back for Wolfson High School.
"I'll play wherever they need me," he said.
Sasser had been close to making a commitment to USC ever since visiting for a junior day in late March. He just had to get his mother to sign off on it.
"She did her research and she gave in," Sasser said. "She loves South Carolina, too."
Sasser joins OL Bryce King as commitments for USC on their spring game day. That gives USC six commitments for the 2013 class.
