Florida OL hoping for USC offer

Published: April 15, 2012

OL Justin Martinez (6-3 285) of Port St. Lucie, FL spent Friday and Saturday at USC with his parents. He does not yet have a USC offer but he’s hoping for one.

“If South Carolina offers me, there’s a very, very good chance I’ll be coming there,” he said. “It was amazing. The facilities were top notch, the best I’ve seen. The coaches are cool and it’s a family atmosphere.”

Martinez had a meeting with offensive line coach Shawn Elliott. “He’s coming down for spring practice and the spring game,” Martinez said. “He likes me as a center. He wants me in camp and if I show him I’m athletic enough, they’ll offer.”

Martinez had knee surgery in December for a partially torn ACL and torn cartilage, but he’s fine now.

Western Kentucky and Florida International have offered and he’s also hearing from Arkansas, Miami, Wake Forest, Rutgers, South Florida and Appalachian State.
