... Quarterback Connor Mitch (Wakefield High/Raleigh, N.C.) was 37-of-57 for 667 yards and nine passing TDs - both N.C. state records - in a 70-42 win. Mitch has 49 touchdowns on the season.
... Defensive back Pharoh Cooper (Havelock/Havelock, N.C.), who plays quarterback in high school, accounted for seven touchdowns in a 67-13 win: four touchdown passes, two rushing scores and a punt return touchdown. He had 212 yards passing.
... Linebacker Larenz Bryant (Vance/Charlotte, N.C.), who also plays running back, had 23 carries for 193 and a score in a 39-35 victory.
... Running back Jamari Smith (Fletcher/Neptune Beach, Fla.), had 56 yards rushing and a touchdown in a 41-3 win.
... Linebacker Matt Rolin (Briar Woods/Asburn, Va.) did not play as his team was on a bye.
... Defensive back Brendan Langley (Kell/Marietta, Ga.) did not play as his team was on a bye.
... Athlete Jasper Sasser (Wolfson/Jacksonville, Fla.) did not play with a foot fracture.
