Junior running back Marcus Lattimore wont need another surgery after having an operation Friday to repair damage to multiple ligaments in his right knee, running backs coach Everette Sands said Wednesday.
Hes doing OK, Sands said. I saw him yesterday. He seems like his spirits are up, which is good.
Lattimore expects to return to football, but he and Sands havent talked about whether that will be at South Carolina or in the NFL, Sands said.
Right now we are just getting into the start of rehab, making sure he has his head on straight, Sands said.
Lattimore will be eligible for the NFL Draft after this season. He will be honored as the schools all-time leader in touchdowns (41) at Saturdays game, and Spurrier said Tuesday that he expects Lattimore to be in attendance at the game. Sands is unsure if that will happen, though.
I havent talked to him about that, Sands said.
