North Carolina DE plans to commit to Gamecocks

DE Kendal Vickers (6-3 245) of Havelock, NC announced Wednesday night he plans to commit to USC Thursday for the 2013 class. Vickers revealed his decision on Twitter. "Committing to the University of South Carolina!" Vickers wrote.

The Gamecocks offered Vickers earlier in the day Wednesday. He also has an offer from East Carolina, However, Vickers is not expected to enroll at USC until January 2014 as he's expected to enroll at Fork Union Prep, VA next fall.

Vickers plays defensive end and linebacker but could grow into a defensive tackle. He has eight sacks this season.

Vickers is a teammate of USC commitment Pharoah Cooper. Vickers will give USC 22 commitments for the 2013 class.
