Around the SEC: Bama-BCS; Georgia has title game shot

Roy Kramer, the great puppet master in all of this BCS chaos, got a kick out of watching all the little people dance for him on Saturday.

Alabama and Notre Dame haven’t met since 1987. That’d be a pretty cool game, wouldn’t it?

The Crimson Tide is a 34-point favorite against Auburn. Thirty-four points! Oh, my word.

Ole Miss needs one more to get bowl eligible. It also needs to get the Egg Bowl trophy back.

Don’t look now, but Georgia controls its own destiny for the national title. The Bulldogs are longshots, but if someone wants to print up a bunch of “Gamecocks 35, National Champions 7” bumper stickers, they’d sell like hotcakes if the situation arose.

In the next few weeks, Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart will make the decision that will determine if he has a job in the next few years. If his football hire works, he’s a genius. If it doesn’t, he’ll be an associate AD again soon.

Kentucky says it has not offered Butch Jones its head coaching job.
