WHAT TO WATCH FOR: A win Sunday would give USC its best start since the 1981-82 season when they opened 10-0. ... USC overcame a 14-point deficit in its last outing against Drexel. Ashley Bruner and Aleighsa Welch led the second-half comeback. ... The Gamecocks have held six of their eight opponents to fewer than 50 points, which translates to being fifth in the country in scoring defense and 11th in FG percentage defense. ... Welch leads the SEC and is tied for eighth nationally with four double-doubles. She averages 11.8 ppg and 10.3 rpg. ... This is the first coaching meeting between Staley and Donovan.
