SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — No. 24 South Carolina got double-doubles from Aleighsa Welch and Tiffany Mitchell in a 55-42 victory over Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium.
The Gamecocks (9-0) used a late surge to take a two-point lead at the half, and 13-2 run late in the second half collect their ninth win of the season.
Welchs 14 points led all scorers, and her 10 rebounds were second only to Mitchells 11. The freshman guard added 13 points, 10 of which came in the second half.
Ashley Bruner finished with nine points and seven rebounds. The Gamecocks out-rebounded the Pirates 38-26 and got 20 of their 55 points off turnovers.
South Carolina is back in action at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, against Furman at Colonial Life Arena.
