USC sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney landed on his fourth major All-America list Tuesday, garnering first-team honors from The Associated Press.

Clowney also was named an All-American by ESPN on Tuesday, the seventh first-team list to honor the Rock Hill standout.

With four of the five primary All-America teams announced (AP, AFCA, Walter Camp and Sporting News), Clowney has secured the “consensus” All-America tag (you need three of the five), joining former USC stars George Rogers (1980), Del Wilkes (1984) and Melvin Ingram (2011).

Clowney has a chance to be a unanimous All-American when the Sports Writers Association of America announces its All-America team on Friday.

Clowney set new USC single-season records for sacks (13.0), tackles for loss (21.5) and single-game sacks (4.5 vs. Clemson) in 2012. He also won the Hendricks Award as the nation’s top defensive end and was a finalist for the Nagurski, Lombardi and Bednarik awards.

In addition to the AP and ESPN selections, Clowney has been named first-team All-American by Walter Camp, AFCA, Sporting News, CBSSports.com and FoxSportsNext.com.
