South Carolina junior quarterback Connor Shaw and redshirt freshman linebacker Cedrick Cooper underwent successful surgeries today, according to the Gamecocks’ team physician, Dr. Jeffrey Guy.

Shaw, a 6-1, 207-pounder from Flowery Branch, Ga., had surgery on his left foot, which he originally injured during the October 27 game against Tennessee. He aggravated the injury in the Outback Bowl win over Michigan on January 1. Cooper, a 6-2, 215-pounder from Lithonia, Ga., underwent surgery on his left knee, which he injured during the bowl mini-camp prior to Christmas.

Both players will begin the rehab process over the next several weeks and are expected to make a full recovery. However, neither is expected to participate during the team’s 2013 spring drills.
