USC has eyes on Florida junior linebacker

January 6, 2013

Junior LB Greg Miclisse of Palm Bay, FL has not been offered by Clemson or USC but is getting a lot of interest from the two.

"I talk to Clemson a lot," said Miclisse who has offers from Connecticut and Louisiana-Lafayette. "I've been talking to coach Venables, coach Scott and coach Swinney. Coach Venables told me to be patient, that I'm one of the top linebackers on their radar and an offer will come."

Miclisse visited USC at the start of his sophomore season and has been in touch recently with linebackers coach Kirk Botkin.

"He's saying to be patient," Miclisse said. "They've got a great facility and coaching staff and they treated me like family."

Miclisse has also visited Florida, Central Florida and South Florida. He will go to junior days at Florida and South Florida and might go to Notre Dame for the spring game. He does not have a favorite and wants to announce at an all star game next year or before his season.

Last season Miclisse had 66 tackles with 18 for loss and 9 sacks.
