USC remains involved with Saluda pair

Published: February 27, 2013

DL Dexter Wideman and OL Kwamelle Barnes of Saluda continue receiving strong recruiting attention. Wideman landed his fifth offer Tuesday from Ole Miss. He also has offers from Clemson, USC, Florida and Michigan.

Barnes has not yet been offered but several schools like him. He was at Florida's recent junior day where he talked with defensive line coach Brad Lawing and head coach Will Muschamp. "Everything about it amazed me," Barnes said. "They are interested in me and want to see me more as an offensive lineman."

Barnes has also been to USC and will try to get back for a camp. USC also likes him as an offensive lineman. He has also been to North Carolina and will try to visit Duke. Barnes said LSU is the only school he knows about that's recruiting him as a defensive lineman.
