WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Gamecocks defeated Mississippi State 79-72 a week ago. In that game, Brenton Williams set a school SEC regular-season record with 38 points. After scoring 18 on Saturday at Vanderbilt, he earned several player of the week nods. ... Williams has led the Gamecocks in scoring in 13 games. … Michael Carrera reached double figures in rebounds for the sixth time this season when he grabbed 13 boards against Vanderbilt. He was named to the SEC all-freshman team Tuesday.
