A few notes from South Carolina's fifth spring practice, which was held Friday afternoon at the Proving Grounds:
-- UPDATE: The Gamecocks' Saturday morning practice and scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium has been canceled because of weather. No makeup day has been announced. The team will practice again Tuesday at 4 p.m. All practices are open to the public.
-- The Gamecocks practiced Friday for about two hours in shoulder pads and shorts.
-- Cornerback Ronnie Martin (hamstring) and wide receiver Damiere Byrd (hamstring) did not practice.
-- Wide receiver Bruce Ellington was at practice but did not participate.
-- Former Gamecock stars Alshon Jeffery and Melvin Ingram were at practice.
-- There was no media availability after Friday's workout.
