Register can't make spring finale

April 12, 2013

LB Chris Register of Greensboro, NC will not attend Clemson's or USC's spring game Saturday due to a track meet. He was invited by the Tigers's coaching staff. "They keep in touch with me all of the time and wanted me to come down," said Register. "I'm still very interested in them because they were the first to offer."

He attended a practice at Wake Forest Thursday and has also been to an NC State practice. "I'm not sure when I'll be able to take more visits but I want to get back to Clemson and South Carolina."

The Gamecocks continue to show interest in Register and he has reciprocated. Though he does not have any favorites, he named Clemson, USC, Florida State and Tennessee as schools of interest. "Coach (Shawn) Elliott has kept in contact with me and wanted me to come down to their spring game but, of course, I can't go," he said.

Register is hopeful of being named to the Army All-America game and said he would consider announcing during the game, "If I get in it".
