South Carolina dropped three spots in the latest Baseball America Top 25 after a weekend series loss to Mississippi State.

The Gamecocks (39-16) are No. 17 in the newest poll. The team has a 17-12 SEC mark and earned a first-round bye in the SEC tournament. USC will play Wednesday night against the winner of Tuesday's game between Missouri and Missippi State.

The Bulldogs (40-16) took two out of three from the Gamecocks this past weekend, climbing eight spots to No. 16 in the Top 25.

Vanderbilt set an SEC record with 26 league wins after winning a series against Alabama, and the Commodores remain No. 1 for the second straight week.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings.
