2 receivers among 3 underclassmen leaving Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky.June 6, 2013

Kentucky's receiving corps is down two players with the departures of DeMarcus Sweat and Bookie Cobbins, who had hoped to play more as sophomores in the Wildcats' new Air Raid offense.

Kentucky football spokesman Tony Neely confirmed the players' departure on Thursday. He also confirmed that redshirt freshman safety Sterling Wright also has left, but Neely gave no reasons for their exits.

The departures were first reported by the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Sweat was the most experienced of the group. He caught four passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games, including two starts. He was also Kentucky's main kick returner.

After redshirting at quarterback as a freshman, Cobbins switched to receiver and played in two games. Wright had looked to contend for playing time in the Wildcats' secondary.
