Schrock gets All-America honor

South Carolina second baseman Max Schrock earned second-team Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America, it was announced on Monday afternoon. Schrock hit .282 (64-for-227) for the season with six homers and 39 RBI. He tied for the team lead with 21 multi-hit games and led the Gamecocks with 14 stolen bases.

Schrock also received Freshman All-America accolades from the NCBWA. Schrock is one of two Gamecock freshmen to pick up Freshman All-America honors. Left-hander Jack Wynkoop (7-3, 3.09 ERA) was honored by Collegiate Baseball in June.
