Young DB stops by USC

July 5, 2013

Myrtle Beach is, of course, a destination spot for vacationers and sometimes recruits will swing thru Columbia to check out USC on the way to the beach. Such was the case with sophomore DB Evan Cruz (class of 2016) of Melbourne, FL who spent some time in Columbia Thursday on his way to the Grand Strand.

Cruz did not meet with any staff but he did check out Williams-Brice Stadium. "South Carolina's football stadium... Oh my... First SEC stadium and I'm in awe," Cruz tweeted.

Cruz is just appearing on the recruiting scene. He started in the secondary for Viera High School as a freshman and also played backup running back.
