South Aiken quarterback Bo Baldwin was contacted Monday by USC quarterbacks cocah G.A. Mangus and was given a grayshirt offer, according to his coach.

"Don't know if he's taking it but he's excited about it," Jeremy West said, adding he had no idea when Baldwin would make a decision.

A grayshirt offer means a player won't enroll in college until the January after his class enrolls.

Baldwin worked out at last week's camp and was also at USC's June camp.

South Carolina's recruiting class will be smaller than normal this year and is already at 12 commitments, with three to four more spots projected.
