USC likes Alabama defensive end

September 3, 2013

Junior DE Christian Bell (6-3 220) of Hoover, AL was offered earlier in the summer by USC. He also has offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Akron. He's also hearing from Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, TCU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, NC State, UCLA and Southern Cal.

Bell has not visited USC at this point but he plans to see the Gamecocks this weekend in Athens. Bell hasn't heard from USC recruiter Grady Brown since getting the offer but feels he's developing a close relationship with him.

"I feel like coach Brown shows a lot of love for me," Bell said. "He's become like a father figure even though I haven't known him for long."

Clemson scouted Bell last spring and he felt the Tigers were going to offer but they haven't to this point. Bell said he does not have a favorite or a timetable for a decision.

Last season he had 39 tackles with 3 sacks.
