Former South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia is getting another chance to continue his professional career, this time in the Arena Football League.

The Tampa Bay Storm acquired Garcia, the team announced Monday night.

“The Storm is always looking for local talent that can make an impact on our roster,” vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch said in a statement. “Stephen is from the Tampa Bay area and will help add to the level of competition at the quarterback position.”

Garcia (6-foot-3, 230 pounds), was a standout at Jefferson High in Tampa. He began his professional football career in 2012 with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. This will be his first season in Arena Football.

Garcia finished his Gamecocks career with 7,597 passing yards - third-most in school history.

The 2014 Arena season kicks off in March.
