Connor Shaw can’t seem to slow down.

The former South Carolina quarterback, the winningest in school history, will be honored by Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier during halftime of Tuesday’s men’s basketball game at Colonial Life Arena. That honor comes days after a much more momentous occasion.

Shaw, who was 27-5 at South Carolina and 17-0 at Williams-Brice Stadium, became engaged to longtime girlfriend Molly Smith this weekend, according to his Instragram account, which posted a photo of Smith and her ring along with the caption: “She said yes! Such a wonderful weekend with my gorgeous Fiancé!"

Earlier this month, Shaw participated in the NFL Combine, where he ran a 4.66 40-yard dash, the third-fastest time among quarterbacks at the event.

“I believe I am an elite competitor,” Shaw said. “I think I am going to prove that in the NFL.”
