It’s been a theme throughout the season, so why shouldn’t it be again?

South Carolina is doing what it’s doing because, at long last, it finally has the “big girl.”

Elem Ibiam and Alaina Coates, sometimes playing alongside each other, combined for 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks in USC’s win against Georgia on Friday. The Bulldogs didn’t have anybody who could stop them.

After two seasons of being good but losing to opponents’ centers, USC got itself one and got a great season from another. It was especially good for coach Dawn Staley to see the two play well after not playing well in their last game at Tennessee.

They did their work early, then kept opening opportunities for the guards. The season has gone the same way.

Big does equal better.
