One streak ended on Saturday.

South Carolina wants to end another one on Wednesday.

The Gamecocks won their first SEC road game of the season, and just their second in three seasons, on Saturday when they beat Mississippi State. The win clinched the 13th seed for next week’s SEC tournament, meaning the Gamecocks will play in the tournament’s first game, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Now to stop another losing skid. USC will play Auburn in the tournament. The Gamecocks were twice thrashed by the Tigers this season and have lost five straight to Auburn overall.
