Sindarius Thornwell earned his third SEC Freshman of the Week award in the last week of the regular season.

Thornwell, the Gamecocks’ second-leading scorer, averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and four assists in two games last week. He had his second double-double of the year with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Mississippi State and tallied his sixth 20-point SEC game, breaking the school record for a freshman held by career leading scorer BJ McKie.

Thornwell is expected to be named to the SEC All-Freshman team when it is announced on Tuesday.
