Thornwell named to All-Freshman team

Sindarius Thornwell’s stellar first season at South Carolina didn’t go unnoticed.

Thornwell was named to the SEC’s all-freshman squad on Tuesday, the only Gamecock to make any of the all-conference lists. Thornwell, named SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time on Monday, averages 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for USC, which begins the SEC tournament on Wednesday.
