Gamecock HotShots: Max Schrock

Posted on March 16, 2014

Max Schrock’s incredible pinch-hit two-run home run Saturday with two outs in the ninth inning tied the first game of a doubleheader against Ole Miss.

Schrock’s heroics fueled momentum that led to Brison Celek’s game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning, lifting the Gamecocks to a dramatic 5-4 victory. That was followed by a series-clinching 3-1 victory in the nightcap against the Rebels.

Schrock didn’t start Saturday due to a continuing issue with his sprained ankle. He also had four hits, including a homer, in Friday’s loss despite the ankle injury that caused him to miss the four previous games.
