Barnett's top five excludes USC

March 28, 2014

DE Michael Barnett of Woodland has been tied up with track this spring and hasn’t taken in recent visits. He wants to get to Georgia and might visit Clemson this summer. He will go to Georgia Tech for a camp.

Right now Barnett has a top five, in no order, of NC State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Georgia and Florida State. Though Clemson and USC are not in that group, they have not been eliminated.

“Coach Hobby (Clemson) really wants me to get down there so he can work with me and see the campus and be around the players,” Barnett said. “And coach Sands (USC) wants me to visit. He messages me every day and wants me to visit. I have interest in South Carolina. Clemson I really like but they don’t have my major (broadcasting). South Carolina came in the picture late and they have my major but they’ll have to work their way back up.”

Barnett also has offers from Virginia Tech (formerly committed), Florida, Tennessee, Alabama and LSU. He won’t make his decision until after the season.
