Delarosa's change of plans could leave USC out

April 4, 2014

6-11 center Adonis Delarosa of New York has been strongly pursued by USC but his decision to move up his commitment announcement by nine days could mean he won't become a Gamecock.

Gamecock coach Frank Martin has made several visits to New York to scout and talk to Delarosa, and his coach said recently the Gamecocks looked strong with him. He said Delarosa planned to take an official visit to USC soon after the dead period ended with April 12th a possible date.

But Delarosa tweeted Friday afternoon he would announce his decision on April 9th, the day after the dead period ends. Considering he's never visited USC, it would appear USC won't be his choice. He has been to Pittsburgh, Rutgers, St. Johns and Fordham.
