Senior tight end Rory Anderson had surgery Tuesday on a torn tricep suffered in Saturday's scrimmage.

"Surgery went well today," Anderson said via Twitter. "Feeling pretty good after & ready to start the return."

Anderson injured the tricep trying to stiff-arm a defensive player.

He is expected to be recovered in time for the 2014 season.

Anderson, 6-5, 230 pounds, started nine games last year and caught 17 passes for 235 yards. His one reception Saturday went for 52 yards.
