Harris plans to get to USC this summer

April 9, 2014

TE Jackson Harris of Columbia, TN now has 35 offers but soon, possibly within a week, he plans to cut that list to a top 10. Clemson and USC are among those offers. Will both make the short list?

“Clemson is definite,” Harris said, “and I have high interest in South Carolina.” Other top 10 locks according to Harris are Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Vanderbilt and Ohio State.

Harris is going to Georgia this weekend for the G-Day game. He might visit Alabama next weekend. He’s also been to Florida, Alabama and Vanderbilt this spring. He visited Clemson last season and plans to return this summer when he will also visit USC for the first time.

Harris has been in recent contact with the Gamecocks. “I’ve talked with coach Spurrier and coach Spurrier Jr.,” he said. “I talked to coach Spurrier about a week ago. He said I’m what they are looking for at tight end and would be a good fit. He wants me to come see the campus.”

Harris last talked to Clemson recruiter Robbie Caldwell about two weeks ago.
