— Jadeveon Clowney awoke to a rainy Manhattan on Thursday, and the countdown began to the moment that will change his life — the opening round of the NFL Draft, which will be held at Radio City Music Hall beginning at 8 p.m.

Tonight also will end the whirlwind that has been Clowney’s life he left South Carolina following January’s Capital One Bowl. Whether he will be the No. 1 overall selection remains unknown.

“I can’t be disappointed because I am up here in New York living, having fun,” he said. “I am going to be chosen. I can’t be disappointed.”

The last three days in New York City has been quite a change for a Rock Hill kid.

“Man, New York is crazy,” Clowney said. “Traffic is crazy. It’s so fast around here. I am like, ‘Golly, it never slows down.”

The media requests haven’t slowed down either.

“I never knew the guys had to go through all this with the cameras and everything,” he said. “I just thought you went up there, got dressed and listen to your name get called.” Finally, that moment will come tonight.
