Sophomore wide receiver Jody Fuller, who played in one game as a redshirt freshman last year, is leaving South Carolina’s football team, a source told The State on Wednesday.

Fuller was a four-star prospect coming out of Sun Valley High School in Indian Trail, N.C., but never gained any traction in the Gamecocks’ rotation. He is leaving to seek more playing time, according to a source.

Fuller, who caught 68 passes for 825 yards and 11 touchdowns, as a high school senior and was considered the ninth-best high school player in North Carolina by ESPN.com. He also considered Miami, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

He becomes the eighth transfer since the end of the 2013 season, joining tight end Kelvin Rainey, spur Mohamed Camara, offensive lineman Bryce King, spur Kyle Fleetwood, wide receiver Kwinton Smith, cornerback Ronnie Martin and running back Kendric Salley.
