There have been baseball drafts in the past when the South Carolinasigning class was left in shambles. Such was not the case this time as the class was basically left intact.

Two of South Carolina’s signees in the class of 2014 were selected Saturday on the final day of the MLB draft.

Hobart, Ind., right-handed pitcher Brandon Murray was drafted in the 30th round by the Philadelphia Phillies. He was ranked the No. 385 overall prospect by Baseball America.

A.C. Flora shortstop Madison Stokes, No. 347 by Baseball America, went to the New York Yankees in the 40th round.

Murray as of Saturday had not made a decision on his future plans.

"There's a good chance I'll honor my commitment to South Carolina," Murray told NWI.com. "I'll talk it over with my family and we'll decide. It's an incredible accomplishment for myself. I've set goals my whole life to make it to this day, it's an unbelievable feeling."

As for Stokes, he made it clear before the draft that he planned to enroll at USC.

Two former USC players who transferred last year to Indian River (Fla.) State College, first baseman Ryan Ripken and shortstop George Iskenderian, were drafted. Ripken, the son of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., was picked in the 15th round by the Washington Nationals, and Iskenderian was chosen by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 34th round.

Other signees who were ranked in the Baseball America Top 500:

-- Greenville High center fielder Clark Scolamiero (No. 211),

-- Weaverville, N.C., pitcher-outfielder Alex Destino (No. 246 and No. 163 by MLB.com),

-- Onley, Va., catcher Hunter Taylor (No. 248).
