South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier expects wide receivers Damiere Byrd and Kane Whitehurst and tight end Rory Anderson to be recovered from injury and ready to contribute for the Gamecocks in the upcoming 2014 season, Spurrier said Thursday.

Byrd, who had knee surgery to repair an injury suffered in bowl practice in December, is currently participating in the team’s summer practices and conditioning program, Spurrier said.

Anderson, who suffered a triceps injury during spring practice, is limited this summer but will return in the fall, Spurrier said.

Whitehurst, who had foot surgery during spring practice, will be full speed in time for fall camp in August, Spurrier said.

Incoming freshman defensive end Blake McClain had hand surgery and another minor injury but will be ready this fall, Spurrier said.
