South Carolina is moving toward a sellout of the season ticket allotment for the 2014 season as season ticket sales continue for Gamecock Club members, the university announced Wednesday morning.

The Gamecocks have sold 51,479 season tickets as of Tuesday afternoon, compared with 51,967 set last year. The season ticket capacity for home games is 55,000.

The only way fans can be guaranteed tickets to either the Texas A&M game on Aug. 28 or the Georgia game on Sept. 13 is by purchasing season tickets. More than 1,600 Roost members of the Gamecock Club who have waited for seat selection will have opportunity to choose seats beginning on Thursday morning.

“We have seen tremendous interest in 2014 football season tickets from Gamecock Club members,” senior associate athletics director Jeff Crane said. “We encourage all members to buy season tickets to ensure a ticket to all home games this season.”

The Gamecocks sold out each of their seven home games in 2013. USC has won a school-record 18-consecutive home games, the longest current home winning streak in the country.
